- Cliënt: Vlaamse Bouwmeester/ Dutch national architect's office
- Team: DOK: Gianni Cito. REDscape: Patrick Mc Cabe, Jorryt Braaksma
- Year, status: 2011
Together with Dok architects, REDscape has been selected as the winner of a competition for the design of a new school and play area in the Belgian town of Bonheide. REDscape developed the space of the courtyard by making an imaginary topography of lines and surfaces which cross the courtyard into the classrooms. These patterns refer to the former sand and heather landscape of the district, but are manipulated to create new meaings for the daily routines for of the schools. DOK architects propsed reusing and integrating existing buildings to develop a new school building. The building and its classrooms, centre around a large single hallway that in turn is wrapped around a central courtyard.
