A REGIONAL GREEN BLUE PARK FOR DUBLIN’S NORTH CITY

Santry river restoration and greenway

REDscape is excited to be part of the winning team for the Santry River Restoration & Greenway Project together with its partners NOD engineers (lead) and Cbec. The team has been tasked to develop a holistic, nature-based  design for  the future Santry Riverpark in North Dublin.  The river has a catchment of 15.64 km2, and stretches 12km from Dublin Airport to Raheny at the biosphere in Dublin Bay.

The landscape of the Santry River is to become the backbone of a green infrastructure  project for the Dublin region. It will facilitate water storage, nature, amenity and active travel to integrate a programme of flood mitigation,  restoration and sustainable mobility. It contains 12 schools, two commercial hubs, 18 sport clubs/complexes and will  connect with public transport modes including a  multi-nodal connection at the proposed Northwood Station for Metro North.
