Square Design Temple Bar

REDscape has teamed up with GKMP Architects, Garland, and West City Dublin Archaeologists to form the winning team selected for the design of Temple Bar Square and the surrounding streets.

The square is one of the most visited locations in Dublin, Ireland, with over 22 million visitors per year. It was developed in the 1990s by Group 91, with an innovative masterplan bringing new life and preventing demolition. It is a unique cultural district with galleries, events, dining establishments, and bars. The square plays a significant role as a venue for events and gatherings, but in recent years, it has become cluttered and less accessible. The square needs a new impetus and transformation into a place that caters to all the needs of the city and all its users. The project began in April with a series of interactive workshops with users and stakeholders.
