The Roman road near Valkenburg

REDscape has been commissioned to develop a design for the recent archaeological discovery of a Roman road in Valkenburg (NL) by the Province of South Holland in collaboration with the municipality of Katwijk. The structure of oak poles makes it a unique example of Roman heritage in Europe. As part of the Rhine route (Limes), it was built on the orders of Hadrian and played a key role in the conquest of Great Britain. The commission is part of the infrastructure project N206.
