REDscape has been asked by Staatsbosbeheer to visualize the spatial aspects of the properties of Staatsbosbeheer in the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. The reason is the need of Staatsbosbeheer to get a sharper picture of the spatially distinctive qualities of its forts..
In the coming years, an extensive investment program will be carried out in the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie aimed at restoring the forts and increasing the experience and accessibility for the public.
The aim of this study is (following Panorama Krayenhoff) mainly inventorying and analyzing instead of forming a vision. The distinctive qualities and potential of the 15 fortresses (and additional works) in relation to the surrounding landscape. The analysis contributes to a spatial vision of Staatsbosbeheer on the forts and intermediate areas in the New Dutch Waterline as a guideline for spatial developments.
